In 2025 we had the pleasure of developing a bespoke counter stool for Puig, the global fragrance, fashion, makeup and skincare brand for an international roll-out of their prestigious Penhaligon’s stores.

Penhaligon’s is a British perfume house founded in 1870 with stores across the UK, Europe, Asia, USA and the Middle East.

Harris & Harris were chosen by Puig to design and produce a fully custom stool with sumptuous natural leather upholstery, slender turned and stained Oak legs and a striking brass footrest with hidden fixings.

The stool was prototyped and developed over several months, liaising between Puig’s Retail Design team and Harris & Harris’s selected furniture maker in Oxfordshire, England.

The result was a carefully proportioned stool, created at a specific height to suit the in-store perfumery counters and a seat diameter carefully selected to suit all markets. Natural finishes were chosen to gracefully age and patina over time.

The stools will roll-out across Penhaligon’s worldwide store network, with their flagship Singapore store pictured within the iconic luxury hotel Marina Bay Sands.
